Terms of use

The rules for using Tenonkit, in plain words. The short version: what you make is yours.

Using Tenonkit

You may install Tenonkit on your own computers and use it to make websites for yourself, your work or your clients. By installing it you agree to these terms.

Please don’t sell, rent or redistribute the app itself, or remove its notices. Reverse engineering it is only allowed where the law says it must be.

What you make is yours

Everything you create, including the HTML, React projects and .tenon and .tenontheme files you export, is yours to use, publish, sell or share as you like. We claim no rights over it. You are responsible for having the rights to the text, images and code you put in it.

The example content

The example components that come with Tenonkit, their layouts, styles and text, are yours to use and change in your own sites. Their sample photos come from picsum.photos and keep their own licence; replace them with your own before you publish.

Open-source parts

Tenonkit is built on open-source software, including Electron, React, Tailwind CSS and CodeMirror. Those parts stay under their own licences, which these terms don’t change.

No guarantees

We work hard to make Tenonkit reliable, but it is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. Keep copies of work that matters: export your projects as .tenon files from time to time.

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost work or lost income, that come from using Tenonkit.

Updates and changes

Tenonkit updates itself to fix problems and add features; see Privacy for how the update check works. If these terms change, we’ll update this page and its date, and the new terms apply to versions released after that.
